Advancing Queensland Women in Business

Tonight I had the pleasure of being invited to an Advancing Women in Business networking event. In addition to informal networking we heard about the Queensland Government’s latest research into the issues impacting Queensland women in business.

These issues include networking opportunities, mentoring, culture, confidence, skills gap, the juggling act, and support. I know I wasn’t the only one in the room who really felt like the findings were speaking to them. We also met the new Queensland Small Business Champion – Marie Adsheed whose ambassadorial role is in finding out about the needs of businesses and supporting them as much as possible.

An excellent evening all round – looking forward to more.

Can’t go without mentioning the venue – Level 41 / 1 William Street. I’ve given this spot the hashtag #411Qld. 1 William St is the new building that houses the offices of the Queensland Premier, Ministers and Directors-General. I think #411Qld is an appropriate hashtag for this tower of power. Don’t you?
