Social overload?

We went to the movies on Saturday (we saw Bridesmaids & loved it btw). I picked up a $10 rewards card when I bought the tickets at the counter. Apparently I get a discount or a free ticket next time I visit the cinema (can’t remember which). For $10, I figured this was a reasonable buy and the young woman behind the counter was friendly & efficient & the purchase process was seamless (another $10 on my existing transaction).

Writing a manifesto

A manifesto is a public statement or declaration of an organisation’s or individual’s policies, beliefs or intention. I don’t think I’d ever thought much about the word. It always conjured up images of force, harshness and dictatorships. If I’d ever done one of those word association tests, then I probably would have responded to ‘manifesto’ with ‘communist’.

New teen mum policy – who is this one benefiting?

A new policy was announced this week requiring teen parents (it will be young teen mums for the most part) to either get a job or go to school as soon as their child turns 6 months. 365Days: Notes three months in to 2011

Well I’m now three months into my 365Days project. My intention was to take one photo per day using Instagram on my iPhone, then upload the image immediately to Flickr. I’d then collate all the individual photos, add tags and descriptions into a set in Flickr. It’s been interesting because it hasn’t always gone as I’d planned.
