So it’s 2013. As always, am looking forward to a new year. New years are like new books – there is a fresh smell, fresh energy, hope and new motivations. Continue reading Happy New Year

Friendships and High Tea
Since I turned forty, I have gradually learned the joy of non-familial female friendship. Working from a home-based business can get isolating. And as much as I enjoy and get satisfaction from my relationship with partner (my life as well as work partner), a person needs a bit of outside stimulation. And in my world, something more corporeal rather than online, is needed. Continue reading Friendships and High Tea
A new name
So you may have noticed that the name and the URL of this blog has changed. I originally created it as a bit of a professional landing page, but some of the posts extended to personal posts so I began thinking of a Blog Title that wasn’t my actual name. And it came to me at about 4am yesterday morning. Continue reading A new name
End of year lessons
Some Christmas reflections came to me this year as I was preparing my contribution to our family feast. These ideas might have formed part of a toast or speech if our family were so inclined to give speeches at family dinners. Continue reading End of year lessons
An anti-climactic Christmas morning
So like most folk with kids, for the past 17 years Christmas morning has been a massive ball of anticipation, excitement and joy (and occasionally disappointment). Movies you must see before you die
A blog post brazenly stolen from Elliot Bledsoe’s 1001 films post, which, from my Wikipedia-ing search comes from one Steven Jay Schneider. I’d like to think this is not so much a braggy post, but a record keeping post. For many of the movies on the list, I think I’ve seen them, but can’t remember. Other’s I can’t recall if I’ve seen the movies or read the books. I hope to update the list, as well as be deliberate in seeking out movies on the list. I Dreamed A Dream I could sing like Ruthie Henshall
I don’t know Les Mis. All I know is that it’s based on a book by Victor Hugo, that it’s set in France during the French Revolution (I think). But the movie is due out this month and Hugh & Rusty are starring in it. Whether you want to or not, it will be hard not to know about the story soon.
